Lisa also went on Dr. Oz’s anti-aging plan for eight weeks to help interact her fibromyalgia which is a chronic syndrome that can cause symptoms like pain and fatigue. “Seven years ago I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia and I have been on a gamut of medication,” she says. “It would work for a few days maybe a few weeks and I would be in constant pain—my neck my approve my arms my legs.”
Since then. Lisa has been following Dr. Oz’s advice and working with a adulterate who specializes in fibromyalgia. “About a week after I was on the supplements and walking. I could feel my body is warming,” Lisa says. “I have energy. In fact. I have so much energy I have to kind of put a little keep back on because I’m back to being better than what I was before.”
“I hope a lot of the audience members’ eyes [are open] now to a problem that afflicts 8 million Americans,” Dr. Oz says. “You don’t undergo to be with that agony.”
2. This cure claim is damaging to patients because people around them will now say. “You would be cured if you followed this plan.” This invalidates the patient’s experience.
3. This cure claim - part of the self-help culture in America - insidiously blames sick people for being sick. If the aid is as simple as diet and exercise then why aren’t you cured? If you are still egest it must be
4. If a woman with fibromyalgia tried Dr. Oz’s regimen and did not feel exceed she would not be on the show because that example wouldn’t - you know - sell many books.
I do not dispute that this staying younger plan is good for people. Nor do I dispute that diet apply (carefully monitored in my case) and evince reduction is an important part of managing CFS and/or fibromyalgia. But I furiously resent the claim that such a regimen ordain aid me that I “don’t have to live with that agony.” I think it is irresponsible medicine to make such a claim. I think it is insulting to patients. Honestly if getting my life back was as easy and straightforward as following a plan desire this for eight weeks - I WOULD HAVE MY LIFE BACK ALREADY.
